⁠Openstreetmap-pgrouting

This container is widely impired of works of https://github.com/Smartappli/openstreetmap-tile-server⁠. It allows you to easily set up an OpenStreetMap PG Routing server given a .osm file.

⁠Setting up the server

First create a Docker volume to hold the PostgreSQL database that will contain the OpenStreetMap data:

docker volume create openstreetmap-datapgr

Next, install osmctools to clean to clean osm.pbf files and screen apt install -y osmctools screen

Cretate a screen session screen -S pgrouting and change directory for opt cd /opt

Download the importation script start.sh and adapt properties and start importing of osm planet into PostgreSQL by running the script.

wget -c https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Smartappli/openstreetmap-pgrouting-server/main/start.sh 
chmod +x start.sh
sh start.sh

Data import takes several days

To reconnect to the screen session in case of ssh session interruption use:

screen -x pgrouting

At the end the server will launch and will listen on 5433 port.

Note: This Docker image has been successfully tested on VPS XXL Contabo https://contabo.com/en/vps/vps-xl-ssd/?image=ubuntu.267&qty=1&contract=1
